Norwich Cathedral

The project comprised the replacement of the existing cast iron rainwater pipework with handmade cast iron replicating the original design and fixing methods. The thirty-six rainwater pipes were accessed from specially designed scaffolding which had to be erected without intervention of the existing façade of the cathedral.

Each of the windows to the cathedral was carefully protected to prevent possible damage from the works. The stonework adjacent to the rainwater goods was conserved and repaired prior to the new pipework being installed. Additional underground drainage was installed to assist the water discharge.
